100% Guarantee it was a scam and most likely a virus or trojan .exe to infect you.

Please don't even consider any services and requests of this nature. You would've lost your money and depending on their malicious Intent, sensitive data and the like.

Their email address Is not associated with any major online merchants, e-commerce nor social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin). It seems dedicated to this (scam) service alone.

Real hackers wouldn't be infected anyways, since they wouldn't be using windows.

You're most welcome.

And you've actually learned the easy way- by taking precautionary measures and asking the community here. The hard way Is If you went along with this scam, lost your money, credentials, data etc and realized "after" the fact.

Take care now.

Linux could be infected with viruses, and it is more vulnerable then windows. But linux can be fixed in a short amount of time, not the slow way as windows is fixed with security patches.

This is absolutely false unless you intentionally disable all of the security features.

I meant by the fact that not many people use linux and if YOU use it you could be more easily targeted by a virus. That's a fact. I know, that you need to be an idiot to get a virus on linux but still. Smile
