Because the way Depop reviews work, when you sell an item the buyer leaves a review, and that's the "seller review", and when you buy something you leave a review and that's a "buyer review".

But depop groups them all together on your account overview page. So the more reviews you have the better the account is and the more legitimate it looks.

Not particularly, but I know people who buy accounts with lots followers and good reviews as it gives a jump start on sales.
