Backing my entire PC up? 10-05-2019, 08:29 AM
#1
I need to back the entirety of my PC (1.1TB, which can be reduced if needed) online somehow that won't cost me a liver and a 2nd job.
I do not have any spare SSD/HDD/ETC hence the reason I need it all backed up to a cloud of some sort.
Appreciate the help.

Not for the capacity you're after.
Do you really trust your data stored online? Both for reliability and privacy reasons? Stating the obvious, save up for an external SSD and backup locally.

You should have backups of your backups. I wouldn't risk online solutions, as it takes too long to transfer, and there's a chance they could lose your data.

That would take me a whole year to back up. My upload speeds are very slow. 1 GB would take me more than an hour. Although I've never had any issues with privacy or files getting corrupted online. Only ones getting taken down for Terms Of Service violations. But 1 TB at a time would really push the limits of any online service. What if your internet goes offline, or router shuts off? I'd try something mainstream like MEGA, or Mediafire. But if you went the local way, a 1TB SSD is about $100 (For one that wouldn't fry). I would in no way trust a HDD with 1 TB of backups all that at once. But it's up to you really. Just factor in the pros and cons.

Appreciate all the comments, I'll be heading to a local JB HIFI tomorrow morning.
Thank you.

For data over a Tb on size, I use either my OwnCloud-based server or some cheaper S3, depending on my goals. Once before, I preferred the Wasabi cloud, but for corporate-level data, I use Amazon S3 in junction with Handy Backup.
