So I saw someone else here asking for advice on a business they want to start and I want to start one as well. But I have no idea where to get started . I'll outline my ideas for the business below :

My idea is a site that will allow business owners to post ads for jobs suitable for young people / teenagers. E.g. paper rounds / sweeping hair . The site would be similar to ones such as gumtree in terms of functionality , basically a classified AD site.

The issue is I have no idea where to start , currently i'm too young to get a real job (hence the idea for this) meaning I can't afford a proper web dev . I have no HTML experience and little coding experience in general. I'm considering wordpress but I couldn't quite finetune it to how I liked. The other option would be using myBB and messing with it to get my desired effect. Any other ideas welcome .

I think the only way to go about this in your situation is to learn basic html & css and use frameworks such as django for example. I would recommend it since it's pretty easy to get into it and it's not so advanced in regards to writing the code. If you don't have the time to do all of this, your hope would be to get help from a friend who knows backend or frontend and the rest is on your hands.

However, I think you should first write down a list of all the functionality of your website with respect to the backend aspect of it and then think about design.

You have to learn basic programming before starting a website if you want it to be successful. Unless you plan of having a dedicated team member that does everything for you

There are many website builders, that do a remarkable job with the site's overall presentation.

For starting a website i first recommend studying the programming basics, then learn the basics of html,css and js, use a IDE like Adobe Brackets it helps a lot, then you can use an Framework like Laravel or React to manage the Backend stuff even with Node.js, once u have the 'base model' (if you use the MVC aproach) then learn php and python it will be usefull to keep autopilot the website (please dont use CGI is a security risk) and then learn SQL or NoSQL with that you can build the site this way:

1. The Backend (using PHP&Laravel, PHP&React , PHP/Python/React...etc) this will be your project's most important stuff here comes the management of the bussiness in "logical way"
2. The Frontend, this part is fundamental because this is the good looking of your bussiness and what you want to sell to people
3. Create a RESTAPI to merge the Backend and the Frontend, to make it more easy to extend by time (something like what Twitter does with Bootstrap or Facebook with React)

the waydown is that maybe u will need a team for every project stage, with 4 or 3 people you can make awesome things, hope my post will help
