I regret to say I'm seeing some of the stupidest comments on here. First of all, you CAN'T visit onion Tor sites without Tor so telling him to never visit without Tor is redundant. And Tor > all VPNs so I wouldn't bother. Most VPNs log your usage anyway and would sell you out for a dime. If you actually trust a VPN doesn't keep logs just because they say they don't, go ahead and do illegal shit on the Dark web, dumbass.

I agree with you. It's the most retarded statement ever to tell someone to not use TOR to connect to an onion link. Make sure you're using a VPN that doesn't log you're shit. There are some exploits that can bypass TOR's routing system though, which is why using a VPN is a great idea. Just as with your webcam, people forget about their mics to.

Multiple VPNs with Tor as the exit proxy if you're paranoid. But the same exploits that can reveal your real IP on Tor also works with multiple VPNs. Javascript is a big no no. Always keep it off without exceptions. Can't get what you want without it? Too bad.

Good point about mics, I keep mine off when I'm not using it (it introduces background static to my headphones anyway). I rarely if ever hear anyone bring up this security threat, though. It should be common sense.

I use whonix, I prefer it for browsing. Tails for more in-depth usage. I'd go as far as to say I personally prefer whonix over tails in all honesty
