Just wondering the views on here based around recreational drug use. This is substances such as weed and ecstasy that I am referring to though obviously there are many many more.

If the government was to legalise weed they would be able to tax it and ensure that all weed grown legally was safe.

That is my view exactly, in the case of the UK where weed is everywhere they could legalise it, tax it heavily and pump the money back into the NHS, though that'd be too easy wouldn't it.

It would also increase the economy pretty significantly.

That's exactly what California and other states are currently doing. There's medical dispensaries in every town where I live. I think i've read California has already grossed 500 million in taxes from weed already. I surely haven't seen where that tax money is going though. Still got shitty roads!

Fully on board with recreational drugs. In my mind if alcohol is the most widely accepted drug in the world and it's also one of the most lethal, I can't see why many drugs are criminalized. Not sure if I'm okay with legalization, but decriminalization would be a great achievement.
