YouTube Hacked #1
Greetings to all,

No need to elaborate my thoughts, the thread's title speaks for Itself.

Quote:It has been reported that popular streaming service YouTube has been hacked. More than a dozen other artists, including Shakira, Selena Gomez, Drake and Taylor Swift are also affected. The original clips had been posted by Vevo. Despacito has been removed, but its cover image had shown a group of people wearing masks and pointing guns. The hackers, calling themselves Prosox and Kuroi’sh, had written “Free Palestine” underneath the videos.

In a statement Vevo said: “Vevo can confirm that a number of videos in its catalogue were subject to a security breach today, which has now been contained.

“We are working to reinstate all videos affected and our catalogue to be restored to full working order. “We are continuing to investigate the source of the breach.”

The above Is taken from a couple of sources (respectively) from the links below.

I'd say It's safe to assume this Isn't an Isolated Incident. Given the scale of YouTube's network, It's Inevitable that more breaches will follow.

I've performed a quick online search, and there's no subsequent articles about the hack, nor anything pertaining to corrective measures taken.

Crazy how easy it is for independent i’m assuming.. hackers can hack into big corporations like that, I remember watching some documentaries talking ab how it’s going to be a long time before any real network security measures to stop hacking are going to be like implemented if it is possible because i’m sure as security evolves so is hacking.

I am so shocked. Every other streaming service I wouldn't be though. You'd think Google would have better protection for its products :/

The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.

Generally with our forum, I figured this went without saying. However, recent discussion has led me to believe otherwise. People are encouraged to read and follow our rules, especially those regarding illegal content. You have been warned - @Oni

There are may organizations that are vulnerable to exploitation.

I've personally hit quite a few Fortune 500 companies and although they weren't easy, the fact remains they were vulnerable. Bear In mind, from a hackers perspective, only one gateway Is needed to get In. From a security standpoint, each and every tech-related vulnerability, poor configuration and human-based potential exploitation must be "Identified" and patched. The operative word of "Identified" Is where It can take a high degree of skill set by the security analyst.

Simply stated, you can't patch what you don't know.

Would love to get back into all that good stuff I just don’t have time for it nor do I have internet at my house w my main PC, once I start college for Computer Science i’ll go ahead and get back into all that. My Internet life has been just as shitty as my real one lately. ):

It's not good to read the Issues you're experiencing. I do hope things Improve a lot sooner than later.

As you know, circumventing and compromising sites/servers can take a high degree of strategic methodologies and as such, It does become overwhelming at times.

Is it safe to assume the breach is specific to Vevo? Always hated how they censored music.
