Amidst plenty of other domestic and international crises, US President Donald Trump pardoned former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who was incarcerated not even a month prior for decades of excessive force and blatant disregard for public safety.

In one of many examples of his cruelty, in a botched SWAT raid, Arpaio's deputies torched a house and chased the occupants' 10-month-old puppy back into the flames, laughing at it's demise:

Deputies then reportedly laughed as the dog's owners came unglued as it perished in the blaze.

"I was crying hysterically," Andrea Barker, one of the dog's owners, tells me. "I was so upset. They [deputies] were laughing at me."

Making fun of the 10-month-old pit bull puppy's death wasn't enough.

Arpaio's goons then left the dog's body to rot in the ashes for the next five days of 105-degree temperatures.

The punishment should fit the crime.

He already tried to defend his actions after receiving bipartisan criticism:

He’s done a great job for the people of Arizona. He’s very strong on borders, very strong on illegal immigration. He is loved in Arizona. I thought he was treated unbelievably unfairly when they came down with their big decision to go get him right before the election voting started ... When I mentioned him the other night [in Phoenix], you saw the massive crowd we had, people went crazy when I said, ‘What do you think of Sheriff Joe?’ or something to that effect.

Fucking insane. Who was cheering? The group of racists in Arizona who loved how he illegally operated? Because I know anyone who had their head on straight hated every second of him in charge there. Horrible reasoning. Horrible person. Only hope is that Arpaio gets dozens of civil suits thrown at his ass.
