It's good practice to run an IDS/IPS on your local network- just to monitor activity between all devices, and obviously prevent Intrusions.

Snort works well, although It Is a pain configuring, Inclusive of the adding rules on a regular basis. EasyIDS Is a better option.

EasyIDS Is built on the CentOS and once configured correctly, Is a very powerful Intrusion Detection System. You simply Install It on one system (It can be a VM bridged to the Host OS) and upon completion, It'll display an IP address dedicated to your Internal network. You then use that IP address on any device (browser) within your network, login, and proceed with the setup/configuration process.
