How do you like to spend your free time with your family? Besides just sharing meals with my family members I'd like some ideas on what I could do with my family members.

When I'm at home I usually code in the room with them, otherwise they get all emotional and shit

Lots and lots of music - we all play instruments, be it my mother/father/brothers/cousins/aunts/uncles, so it's fun to take the DX7 or something else and jam out.

Past that, eh - arcade games, roadtrips to random places/off-roading in the Lada, skateboarding, airsoft, or swimming. If it's the winter, add cross-country skiing to the list.

If you can afford to do so, take them on an outing to a place of "their" Interest and liking. It doesn't have to be anything expensive, just decent.

Parents really appreciate when (for a change) their child does something for them.

It's as simple as just spending time with the family really. What exactly to do can be whatever. It can even be just sitting together in the living room. Whatever you do ends up way more awesome because you're doing it with your family (just like how outings with friends are more fun than alone).

Some examples I can think of are: cooking, sports, road trips, picnics, watching a movie, discussing stuff with them, working on a diy project, or going out to some event in the city.

I started reading that in utter shock that it seemed like a normal post... Then I got to the strip club part. Yup.

I'm 3000 miles away from my family and by the time I go home to visit, it will have been a year since I last saw them all. I've no idea at this stage what we will get up to. Otherwise time spent with family is weekly skype calls where we just catch up on what's going on.
