Am I going insane? #1
I don't know why but lately I've been feeling like I'm watching my life pass and I'm not taking any part in it. I've been told it's anxiety but I know it's not and all I can do is sit and watch. There's been nothing bad that's happened to me, no drugs, personal shit etc. Just recently been feeling weird, like sometimes I'd have a conversation and afterwards question if I actually had one or not, sometimes even asking the suspected person. Also been thinking some dark shit, like law breaking shit something I wouldn't really think. Putting into perspective, murder and robbery type shit.

A forum about computers is probably the last place to express this, but I was told I should talk to people and the 'doctors' are my last option.
Anything helps at this point. Thanks - simme

I've felt like this for a long time. Every day just seems to fly by with nothing really sticking out, you have a lack of energy in everything you do, and nothing really triggers your emotions like it did in the past.

I think it's depression, but I kinda like it.

I've also thought maybe I'm border-line sociopathic, which would explain the lack of emotions.

Insanity is a normal phase that everyone will encounter at some point in their life. It's nothing more than your mind telling you to grow. The mind is programed to never stop thinking/learning/growing. Insanity is when you stop moving forward and instead continuously turn in circles. Depression, complacency, depersonalization, anxiety are merely symptoms of insanity. You can only defeat insanity by learning to understand it. Everyone has to find their own understanding of insanity. Start by changing small things in your life. Try getting up at dawn and just watching the sun rise and then go for a run. Try to absorb nature, people and things you normally don't acknowledge or take for granted. Try going to different/random places, even if it makes you uncomfortable. Try new foods or get involved with an organization/religion/community. I think you get my point... I believe insanity is a warning. Your mind is telling you to slap yourself in the face and wake up. I hope my words lead you in the right direction. My theories/beliefs are based from my own experiences. I say that because you must endure all things in life to defeat them. Insanity is natural and you will prevail.

Who actually told you that you're suffering from anxiety?

Have you made any recent lifestyle changes- diet, sleep patterns etc? Anything (no matter how small) negative happen as of recent? Something Is triggering your emotions, perhaps subconsciously and It may well be the cause of your behavior and line of reasoning.

I would agree with the suggestion here. Doing things you'd never normally do and even taking yourself out of your comfort zone (without committing crimes) can be valuable and therapeutic.

Thank you for the advice, I'll try some of your suggestions and will report back with any changes mentally. Thank you.

Unless you're clinically examined and assessed, It's just mere speculation to say you're suffering anxiety.

I could easily say your forgetfulness Is due to psychosis, but medically, I'm not In a position to determine that. If It's of real concern to you, I suggest you consult your doctor and allow him/her to provide their professional opinion, advice and treatment (If required)- all from a medical standpoint. If you have an underlying condition, they'll find and treat It accordingly.

I'm not an expert in this but perhaps you may lack excitement in your life? Since not much goes on in your life, your mind begins to wander and even the darkest thoughts appear. Could be some form of depression. I get depressed if I have no one to talk to and start thinking of weird things but I'm that idiot who pushes people away because the fear of being an annoyance. Have some time to think this out a bit to determine how you really felt. If it goes no where, try to have a verbal conversation about it with someone.

If you think you are going insane, you most likely are not going insane. I remember thinking the same when I had a terrible period of chronic insomnia (lasted months, with only two to three hours of sleep a night). I began waking up at places I had no idea how I got there. I was seeing things - but it was controllable, therefore, I was not, at least within legal realms, insane. Insanity is where you can no longer functionally interpret reality as to how it is; therefore, you could not possibly know if you were insane.

It is also extremely unlikely that you are going through a psychotic episode of some sort since you don't seem to have any delusions or forms of hallucinations.

Go to the doctor. He'll give you an answer.

Your definition of insanity is incorrect. You are referring to a scientist's opinion of what insanity defines as. Insanity is where you can no longer interpret reality and you fail to understand what is real.

For all we fucking know, OP might be having an onset of a serious illness. I doubt it, but it could be the answer.
