Using shrooms for relationship therapy #1
How do the stoners (or not) of SL feel about taking mushrooms for relationship therapy? Obviously, shrooms can really fuck you up and scare the hell out of everyone involved, but granted you know what you're doing and trust your partner enough to feel comfortable, I think this is a great idea. Everything in moderation, of course.

It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

In my younger days many many years ago, I took them and had a terrible experience.

Obviously I had no clue as to what I was doing. I didn't think they can be used In a therapeutic form. The article Is quite Interesting, I shall read It In detail shortly.

You know you have relationship problems when you have to take shrooms to enjoy each other's company. A lot of people say MDMA/mushrooms/LSD/etc. can be used therapeutically, but I think it's really just recreational use.

If both individuals are comfortable with it, it would bring the couple closer together. Although, bad trips will happen regardless of how prepared you are.

Sorry to hear you had a bad trip, I can't imagine it would be any fun. On the other hand, I've read quite a few recent articles promoting mushrooms' mental health benefits.

Even if I had access, however, there's no way I'd be able to try them. My (now former) smoking buddy recently quit and she's trying to go completely clean, and I don't trust anyone else nearly enough.

I wouldn't call it a necessity, per se. The woman Broadly interviewed described it as a new perspective on her and her fiance's lives and their relationship.

That new perspective could potentially bring a couple closer together, or help them realize that they aren't working out in some way they overlooked otherwise. Imo, those are both good outcomes.

Aren't shrooms a Hallucinogen? I fail to see how that could help your relationship. I fear it would lead to it being a necessity, rather than improving things.

Shrooms are fine imo, if you've done your research & you're prepared for it everything will be fine.

Thanks for your words of support.

It's great to read that your buddy has quit smoking. I too, was a smoker (quite heavy), quit back In 2007 and haven't had a puff since. That's the thing with these mushrooms- unless It's from a reputable source, you don't conclusively know exactly what you're getting. If clinical studies are performed, It'll be very Interesting to read the results/reports.

I feel like positive effects on a relationship would be a rare occurrence. There are so many ways to explore new experiences with your partner. Illegal, risky drugs don't seem like the best idea to me.
