Sir John Hurt dead at 77 01-29-2017, 06:53 AM

Sir John Hurt is dead at age 77. This would be "just another celebrity", but the roles he played, namely the Great Dragon and the War Doctor, have had quite a profound effect on me, so I can't help but say that we've lost nothing short of a legend. Rest in peace.
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

He also played the Elephant Man if I'm not mistaken in the film, The Elephant Man.

He also portrayed Ollivander in the Harry Potter films, Harold Oxley in Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (the crazy guy), and Chancellor Sutler (the bad guy) in V for Vendetta, which in addition to as The War Doctor, is how I know of him.
He had quite a variety of roles in his career, and it is a shame he did not have a much larger following, given how talented he was.
