Vouch even if Google harms your privacy the loss is worth it for the convenience of never losing your school work. I actually do everything from a Chromebook. It's pretty nice
I'm gonna start hosting my own cloud, I stay as far as I can from Google (and you should too).

I remember this happening to me one time.
Before I had this PC I just used a laptop. Didn't game or anything on it.. just watched youtube and kept important files there. Needless to say a friend broke it by spilling liquid directly on the keyboard while using it. It is the WORST feeling in the world when your computer just goes blackscreened after you know some shit happened to it.

Something similar happened to me a couple weeks ago. I heard a shock and my laptop went black, and that was it. I pulled the HDD and need to get the data off now. Ended up toasting the Mobo

Shit, I have the opposite problem. Everything worked but the drive. And I had to shell out an extra $50 to Dell for a new copy of my repair USB
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.
