Since the flatscreen died, I'm stuck with an old CRT on my Linux box until I get my laptop running again, and as many of us know from the earlier days of consumer PCs, CRTs aren't exactly widescreen.

This feature would be convenient not only for older monitors, or even newer ones with native 4:3 aspect, but also on mobile, since the current setup only shows the thread title and last poster.

Let's be honest, though, this kinda sucks:
