I don't use Skype much I use Discord/Tox and I am getting a new XMPP soon.

That was hilarious, "i don't trust anything else" I would never trust Skype. It's logged, buggy, slow, etc. XMPP is way better if you choose the right server + Tox is even better since it doesn't require servers + Discord is Skype, but with a way better design. It looks sort of like it was made for SBB now that I think about it.

Well there are multiple XMPP clients, but Pidgin is the most popular. It doesn't look as good as Skype but Pidgin + OTR are one of the best setups for privacy. You can also run it through the Tor network an extra layer of privacy.
