You're pretty close, except I'm slightly older and a bit more greyer.

What. For reals?

But good job, I guess.

I've been a culprit of inactivity lately. A lots been going on and I let my activity slip. Hopefully no more of that for a while.
I mean, you did just move.

Well remembered! xD But, I am staff and I have access to the internet, so I don't really have an excuse at this stage.

You certainly may.

I was In an "over 60s" function, more so a bingo night for all senior citizens and I came second. The prize was the wand.

No, just kidding.

Let's just say I'm not that old and not as young as most members here.

The story of my life for the past 15 years or so.

Started on the net when dial up was around, and when 52 kbps (I never reached the 56k limit) was considered an awesome speed.

A social life is somewhat important too.

That was the case when I was really young. I've been lucky in that computers/internet have developed really fast as I've grown up. Makes me laugh that I grew up with VHS while my little bro grew up with DVDs. He will never understand the pain of rewinding those bastards. And the dodgy pause where everything still moves and jumps around.

Unfortunately this is true. I kinda killed my social life recently. The people I lived at university with were causing me severe levels of stress. It's been kinda nice to take a step back and move somewhere else. A social life is nice when you can go home and not have to continue dealing with it when shit hits the fan.

Oh my goodness, It's great to read that you've experienced the good old VHS players.

I grew up with that too and yes, the rewinding (depending on the capacity of the tape) sometimes took as long as 5 minutes to complete. The remote was a "cord", whereby It was plugged In from one end of the room to the other where I was seated. I actually lost count as to how many times I tripped over It and ripped It off the VHS player.
