Coding is a hobby to me.  But it could also be a way to make some money.  

About the second point, yes absolutely.

It shows in a different way how much the put in effort to learn has been worth it. Although, there's always new things to learn.

It's applying logic to make life easier and/or more efficient. Scripting makes managing your system easy, while websites help you manage your money, talk, get resources and ideas, etc. It's a means to an end. That said, there's less desirable and more desirable ways to get from one place to another. You would much rather use the simple, short, understandable walking to get to the store, rather than running around in circles and almost getting hit in traffic. Both get you there, but really, just make it easy and nice looking for everyone.
