This is a guide to getting a secure browser. It'll work for the desktop and mobile versions of Firefox.

1. Obtain a copy of Firefox from here and install it.

2. The browser now needs to have its settings configured and plugins installed & disabled.

3. Disabling WebRTC to prevent IP address leaks. WebRTC provides Firefox with real-time communication using Javascript. It can leak your actual IP address from behind a VPN.
To disable WebRTC, open Firefox and enter about:config into the address bar. Click the "I'll be careful, I promise" button. Search the config for media.peerconnection.enabled and set its boolean Value to false. That should have done it, you navigate away from the config now.

4. Blocking advertisements and protecting your privacy using Firefox add-ons.
Open Firefox and enter about:addons into the address bar. Select "Get Add-ons" from the menu.
Search and install the following add-ons:

• "uBlock Origin" - Blocks adverts
  
• "Self-Destructing Cookies" - Deletes site's cookies after you close the tab by default (you can whitelist sites)
  
• "HTTPS Everywhere" - Attempts HTTPS instead of HTTP connection to all sites
  
• "Random Agent Spoofer" - Changes your browser's useragent string at intervals. Also provides some privacy protecting settings. Not available for mobile.
  
• "BetterPrivacy" - 'Supercookie safeguard'. Not available for mobile.
  

Optional but suggested add-ons:

• "NoScript"
  

Restart browser. Select No when 'HTTPS Everywhere' asks to use SSL observatory.

5. Configuring add-ons to reduce notification annoyance.
Open Firefox and enter about:addons into the address bar. Select "Extensions" from the menu. Click the "Options" button for 'Self-Destructing Cookies'. Scroll down and uncheck the notifications checkbox. Repeat these steps for 'Random Agent Spoofer'.

6. Configuring 'Random Agent Spoofer'.
Click the 'Random Agent Spoofer' icon in the menu bar of Firefox (blue circle with white user icon in it). Set "Change periodically" to Every 5 minutes. After that, select the "Headers" tab. Check all the check boxes in that tab.

7. Enhancing Firefox's privacy in the config.
Enter about:config into the address bar. Click the "I'll be careful, I promise" button.
Search the config and set the following:

• privacy.trackingprotection.enabled = true
  
• geo.enabled = false
  
• browser.safebrowsing.enabled = false
  
• browser.safebrowsing.malware.enabled = false
  
• network.cookie.cookieBehavior = 1
  
• network.cookie.lifetimePolicy = 2
  
• browser.send_pings = false
  
• webgl.disabled = true
  
• dom.battery.enabled = false
  

8. Enter about:addons into the address bar. Select "Plugins" from the menu. Disable all of them.

9. Changing your search engine to DuckDuckGo. I personally favor this search engine over Google, it feels better. Enter about:preferences#search into the address bar. Select "DuckDuckGo" as your default search engine.



Let me know if I should change or add anything to this. This in use with a VPN is very secure. I recommend that you swap the browser setups on all your devices for this one.

Yeah, then get blacklisted from tons of sites

Just use the tor bundle. Much easier. You wont get blacklisted for using tor. My router is configured with tor so I am always connected to it.

Well in step 8 it instructs to disable all plugins, which should include flash player. Following the guide would make Firefox conflict with any trackers as cookies are removed each time a tab is closed and the user agent string is set to change frequently.

I do agree that It does have a few negatives.

Depending on the nature of some sites I visit, In order to load and allow proper functionality, I need to disable NoScript- even though I've actually allowed It within NoScript Itself.
