Even so, If It's rebuilt poorly, It'll be worse off than It's previous state.

What's to stop It from derailing? You have a very valid point. I wish someone could answer that definitively.

Because they are complex machines, it is a ton of little things together that would keep it from derailing.

Big ones are keeping the wheels/rollers in good repair, keeping track free of debris, ensuring no warping.

Since this is a hanging inverted coaster, forces pull at the connection between gondola and track differently, so keeping up on repairs with that is tantamount.

Also, to those on about surviving at high speed, did you even look at what they ride in? If anything that design probably is what saved them, assuming the ride was at top speed in the first place, which isn't stated.

I once was at a park in Spain where they had a wooden ride and when we reached the slow down at the peak, my friend goes "this would not pass health and safety in England"... The scream that escaped me on the decline was full of genuine fear.
It's cause the Scottish are wimps and their rollercoaster tops at 5mph and remain 2 feet above the ground.

What are you even talking about?

No one has died yet but at a later date they could due to their injuries

Yes, that's evident. I certainly agree.

However, those who created the complex machine, should know It's complexity well enough to maintain It In a safe and functional form. Generally speaking (not aimed at you), It's simply not acceptable to say "Because It's a complex machine, we cannot maintain It, thus cannot reassure It's safety".

Along the lines of complex, they should at least do a full check and detailed check everyday to make sure that they are as safe as they are. But instead they give it a quick once over by sending one ride out with no one on it then say it's safe.

Did not mean for it to imply that because its complex, it would be incapable to maintain it, I meant that it could be any number of things that had gone wrong to cause the failure.

I think you've nailed It right here.

A quick check (In their eyes) may suffice It's safety. And perhaps the cost factor may be part of the equation. Either not enough funding for regular maintenance to be carried out, or shutting the service down during peak times will result In revenue loss.

Oh I see, my bad, I thought you were referring to It's complexity alone.

Hopefully it stays that way.
