I can attest to it being a great site, it's how I learned python actually. It'll definitely get you to learn the syntax and some of the logic required to code complex systems but I'd also suggest browsing MIT OCW if you want to brush up on the theory.
How is the Javascript course? I really have a beef with javascript so I never bothered looking at it.
