Only if it gets really bad. Groups will go through stages of inactivity but if it's like that for too long, especially if it's multiple groups going inactive, it looks really bad to have loads of dead groups. Even if it's only 2 members keeping the group going for a while, it's better than dead.

We've shut groups down in the past. Normally we try to find a new leader or encourage the current one. It's not my goal to scam you out of your group, but we don't need a bunch of dead groups either.

Which is highly fair imo, the less the inactive groups the better, giving the other groups more quality.

This ^^^

The decision to close groups due to prolonged periods of Inactivity, Is certainly warranted. I've been on forums with groups that no longer serve their purpose (Inactive), and It puts a negative Impact (to some degree) on the forum as a whole.

You wouldn't close an inactive member's account, but why does that logic work for a group? I don't understand that logic.

Sure, you don't need an inactive group, but if they're inactive, there's really no need to shut it down either, fight? After all, they aren't hurting anyone in the community.

Furthermore, what if the group members return to activity? It wouldn't be a very nice way of welcoming those members back to strip them of a group where they could have gathered and talked about similar interests.

Good point.
Now I don't know which side I'm on anymore.

We'd have I don't know how many groups by now if we didn't get rid of the old/dead ones.
