Hey guys. I just find it really hard to focus in school. I just can't stay interested. Do you guys have any pointers or ideas to help me? I also have a hard time having a drive to study or do homework. Let me know if you guys have any methods that can help me perform better!

I have something that helps me with homework/studying. Its called the pomodoro technique. It sounds stupid but hey, nothing is stupid if it works. Its basically doing the task you want to get done for 25 min and take a break for 5 min.

Take a 10 minute break for every 50 minutes of work time. It helps.

Taking a break off the internet always helps.
Gives a stronger mindset.

When you go to school, turn off your phone and other electronics. Don't turn them on unless it's urgent or you have free time.

So for me, if I don't get enough sleep, I'm fucking done. If you just can't focus, try getting a bit more sleep. I find that about 9.5 hours of sleep is just the right amount of sleep for me, but it could be different for you. Eating in the morning also seems to help. However if other things are distracting you like checking your phone constantly or that one girl who always wears yoga pants and happens to bend over in front of you that's another story. Try the previously mentioned 50 minutes of work = 10 minute break. The girl? Tap that in the bathroom, continue on with your day. If all else fails, try a bit of coffee, maybe a cup before school or bring a decent sized thermos of it and sip throughout the day. Don't over do it or you'll fuck yourself out of sleep.

I personally just grunt through it until I'm finished. It's hard.

I would say a good sleeping schedule is necessary for focus and a good diet also helps too. As others previously have suggested, turning off electronics is a good idea if you want to focus at home and also take regular breaks. Try to make a plan of what you are going to do too, this can help you stay on track and avoid distraction. Another factor that could affect concentration is the amount of exercise you do, physical well-being can affect your concentration ( there was a study on this i think, I'm not 100% sure though) and when i mean exercise i don't mean it like 5 hours a day and 7 days a week in the gym, just 10-20 minutes of daily exercise will suffice. You can get your doctor to prescribe Methylphenidate/Ritalin to help with concentration if nothing is really working, it stimulates the central nervous system and is used for many things involving attention/concentration.
I wish you the best of luck.
