Machine Learning #1
Machine learning is all about a machine learning to sort things. For example, it could be sorting different types of animals... dogs, cats, and birds. Imagine those different animals displayed on a chart. They are measured by different dimensions: width, height, weight, color... anything really. There will be distinct groups in the data among the different types of animals:
  • Dogs - Some are tall and heavy, but some are short and light.
  • Cats - Most are short and light, some are short and heavy.
  • Birds - Most are small and light, some are large but still light.

There will be a few cats and dogs that are indistinguishable, but most of them are distinguished. That can be fixed by measuring the animals in different ways: maybe the food they eat. That is what machine learning does: it finds groups in data.

I drew up a little chart to show an example of the groups of different types of animals. You can definitely see the structure of groups.

RED: Dogs
GREEN: Cats
BLUE: Birds
NOTE: The data is not supposed to be extremely accurate, I just picked what I though was close to real data.

I found this video on Youtube explaining the concept pretty well.

Interesting stuff. I watched a TedTalk on machines, AI, and learning once. Basically the computer was able to detect brain cancer better than the neural surgeons were. Very very promising stuff.

Yes, it is interesting.
What I had here was really simple.
Maybe I'll do some machine learning programming tutorial or challenge.

I thought I'd be able to understand it without watching the video. Hmmm.

@DarkMuse and @tinko00 understood it. Right?
