Do any of you run Ubuntu inside your current operating system?
I use VirtualBox to do so and it works fine and if anything goes wrong with Ubuntu it cannot affect my main OS as it is virtual allocated memory.

I have Backtrack R2 on my pendrive which is a LiveCD install. But no... I don't see a point for myself.

BackTrack is a bloated pentesting-flavour of ubuntu. I much prefer to just install ubuntu and any tools I know I'll use.

I tried running running mac os on VM and failed miserably

I agree with w00t though, never actually used backtrack for anything, I can just put the tools I need on ubuntu,,,
