It'd be pointless. I mean, all threads with hide tags should never be in the prostats. Pretty frustrating reading 'thanks' when you expect a reply to a thread.

We could also make it so such replies are only allowed in Sharing sections.

Code:
- Only allow hide tags in a specific section - Turn off post count in that section - Require 10 posts to post and access a hidden content, or let the member who posted that hidden content decide how much posts he wants in order for a member to post and see the content. In this way, new members are forced to snoop around the forum and post on different sections before getting the free content other members post. After the 10 posts they'll probably would have had a slightly good look at the forum and they can decide to stay or not. - Let Legends, Gold and higher usergroups see the hidden content without having to post. (Added Perks to upgrade)

Pretty good ideas, I think it would be successful to implement the hide tags with these rules.

RE: Increase Traffic #34
I think that hide tags should be implemented, but you require 100 posts to view content inside of the hide tags. This gives the staff members time to ban all of the low quality posters whom are trying to get access to the hidden content. Not only this, but if a user reaches 100 quality posts and gets the content that he (or she) wants, it's possible that the user will stay on Sinister.ly and have somewhat of a passion for the community. However, I don't think that they should be implemented right now (perhaps maybe in a year or so).

The issue wit requiring a post count, esp one that high, is that it will cause many "that's cool, I agree" type of posts.

RE: Increase Traffic #37
post to unhide tags are fucking stupid.

Think about it for just a second. If they need to post BEFORE they read/view it, then it's fucking impossible to actually comment something relevant to the topic.

Which means you will ONLY see low quality posts.

And even if you have a set limit, say, must have X posts... it will just encourage people to post crap. Sure you can delete them. But do you really want to do the extra moderation?? how much are you going to miss? And for what? to prevent "leeching"? I can guarantee you that there is nothing on this forum I can't just as easily find somewhere else on the net. Theres no research being done here. even if someone writes something 'unique' - it's still going to be regurgitated crap from somewhere else.

And if they do indeed make those kinds of posts, you can ban them. There should be something such as a "Trial" usergroup, and if you break any rules or make bad posts, you'll be banned. You'll move to the "Member" usergroup after 100 posts, and the staff members will make sure that the Trial members are making useful posts.

This sounds like an interesting but challenging idea. I like it but we would need to make sure there was enough staff coverage for every member that joins. I'm not sure how easy that will be but I would like to see the idea discussed. Oni often has to purge dormant accounts that have like 1 post from a long time ago, so some efforts are being made to ensure poor quality is reduced.

Using ProStats you could always choose which forums to not show threads from
Whoop Whoop?
