Who remembers Ubers.org it was once a decent forum but it started going down-hill like HF did and eventually the owner gave it up or sold it to one of his staff members or something like that and the staff member made a new forum on some different software that was a completely different kind of forum and a lot of people ended up not liking it.

I have no idea what ever happened to the new forum because I was one of the people who did not like it.

I was a very active member there.

The admin named "Crazy4cs", simply lost Interest In maintaining the forum. During the latter stages prior to closing, seldom was he around. He put an announcement that Ubers.org will come to a close, but will not be sold. A staff member there created a forum named "VSecurity", with the domain of "vsec.co" and called It the second generation of Ubers. The objective was to migrate as many members as possible from Ubers to VSecurity, but It was a complete failure.

VSecurity was based on the NodeBB: https://community.nodebb.org/

As you can see, It doesn't look very enticing and as a result, not many members migrated. VSecurity closed not long after It opened.

That seems about right but the forum was going down-hill people were starting to troll and be low quality, etc.

Crazy4cs should have NEVER made the forum if he was just going to give up on it. The was a fairly big forum and he just flushed it down the toilet like a load of shit.

I totally agree.

At the time when I registered, It was at It's peak with the stats something like 1200 members (not Including guests) active In the past 24 hours. When Crazy4cs gave up on the forum, It struggled to reach 80 members In 24 hours. Vsec.co was a failure right from the start. Everyone was complaining about the NodeBB, and why MyBB wasn't used. That only lasted a few months or so.

Everyone was looking for a new community and were disappointed when hearing Ubers was coming to a close. I believe If the new forum was a clone of Ubers (same board & similar theme and plugins), It would've been a success.

Unless all users/posts were transferred over I don't think it would of succeeded even if it was the same setup. Nobody likes to have so much work and effort into there account and the next minute it all be gone.

when I first seen vsec it was ugly as fuck and I never clicked that register button.

You do have a point, but It's hard to say conclusively whether the new forum would've succeeded or not.

I'm just going by member feedback, being (as you've said) Vsec's ugly and somewhat disorganized setup and how they missed the look and feel of Ubers. Then again, a fresh start with zero posts and reputation Is not Ideal either for some members.

I loved Ubers. It was one of my favourite websites.

I see some members from there here, notably mothered. Was always very helpful and welcoming.

I enjoyed the site and the community, although I think I was a bit late as Crazy4cs had lost interest I believe by the time I joined. I still enjoyed the community and there were certainly some intelligent users.

I also used Vsec. Shame they closed just like that.
