Gay Marriage in the US 06-26-2015, 07:20 PM
#1
It's legal now, what do y'all think?
Personally, it's about liberty. Here in America we should promote liberty in general. Too many people are caught up with us simply legalizing gay marriage, but nothing else. What about marijuana? If you're permitted to drink and smoke, should you not be permitted to smoke marijuana? Not only that, shouldn't citizens be able to purchase their own firearms with minimal government intervention? Liberty does not stop at social issues; liberty should never stop. You should be permitted to be married to one of your own gender, just as much as you should be able to freely express Christian or Islamic or Buddhist religious beliefs in public. We are not to promote some liberty, but not others.

Gays are fine to me, I really don't give a shit, the problem is that gay rights movements are counterproductive. There are so many more important things you could be protesting about, but no, lets make america a shitty place and allow flamboyant aids-breeding faggots to roam the streets in herds.

Personally, I believe It comes down to an "each to their own" scenario.
Same sex marriage (In both genders) Is somewhat frowned upon In today's day and age, and has been for as long as I can recall. Provided they're happily married, then be It as It may. It's their business and as long as It has no direct or Indirect negative Impact In any way, shape or form on anyone or any entity, then all the very best to them.

@Dyme , don't tell anyone to be so happy about this ruling, because we're Libertarians or something, then go on to tell us that gun restrictions need not to be raised to a certain extent. And I'm glad I didn't have to call you out on the semi-auto assault rifle bullshit, at least it gave me a good laugh. (Your favorite reporters on CNN and MSNBC telling you that you need background checks, thankfully, doesn't mean that it has "public support")
@Saikou I encourage anybody reading what you just posted to also read the context of the underlined text, by the way.
But may I ask, exactly what you're trying to get at with that post? The notion that incestuous marriage is now legal, by way of the wording of those excerpts, seems possible, but later on the text finally starts to mention same-sex marriage specifically, not just the broad right to marry anyone that you love. This is exactly the slippery slope that people refer to. If 50 years ago, gay marriage and gay relationships were so frowned upon, (just as much as, say, incest, in 2015), then don't folks think it completely possible that in another 50, #LoveWins again in a monumental supreme court ruling that states a daughter can marry her father?
