Anybody got any recommendations for a CMS I was thinking of Drupal but am not sure. I am wanting to make a little site for survival/prepping and do not want to use a html/css template and having to edit files each time just to add/remove content.

Light Weight, Easy to modify, etc is what I am looking for as coding is not my thing. I only really know very basic HTML/CSS and sometimes PHP.

Wordpress has always been my go to option.

Wordpress is good for what you're looking for. Just be careful about the plugins/extensions you decide to install.

I was just looking into Word Press and decided to download it on and test it on xampp.

Let me know if you need any help. I've done a decent amount of work with wordpress in regards to security and upkeep, so I'd be happy to lend a hand.

Well it would be a bit before I actually launch this site because I been working on a forum related to survival but took a break for a while because I was not in a hurry to launch it, as of right now I have started working on that again.

I can provide you a URL if you want to take a peak of what I mean by survival/forum.

But if I do decide to go ahead with wordpress I could for sure use securing tips.

Do whatever you want by all means. I'm just letting you know that you can feel free to contact me at anytime if you encounter any problems with WP or have further questions. GL.

Thank you btw, I am actually enjoying messing around with WordPress in localhost. I think WordPress is going to be my choice for sure.

Wordpress is a good choice. Like stated earlier, be careful about the plugins, I see hacked WP accounts every day because of outdated or vulnerable plugins. Also a strong admin password is a must because those that aren't cracked by vulnerable plugin issues are usually owned by bad passwords.

Well I probably would not allow registrations, It allows guest comments I assume?.

I most likely would not use any plugins or very few. And I would relocate the admin panel and probably put a secondary password for access through htaccess if that works with Wordpress.

Any security measures I can find for the version I will implement and if needed I will deffinitely ask for some securing help because I am not really a CMS guy, I worked with MyBB and secured MyBB a lot but that is obviously different.

Also CloudFlare would help to an extent not by much. I always use CloudFlare because even though its not the best it does have some benefits.
