10 USD Now to Feature a Woman #1
http://www.wsj.com/articles/alexander-ha...1434591472

Quote:For the first time in more than a century, a woman’s face will appear on an American bill.

The Treasury Department announced Wednesday it will replace the main image of its own founder, Alexander Hamilton, on the $10 bill, with a woman as yet to be determined. Mr. Hamilton will remain on the bill in a diminished way.

The currency will be unveiled in 2020, the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote. The last woman to appear on a bill was Martha Washington, in the late 19th century.

Americans will have the summer to weigh in on which one of history’s leading ladies they think should have the honor. There is no list of successors, but names frequently mentioned include Eleanor Roosevelt, abolitionist Harriet Tubman, civil-rights icon Rosa Parks and Wilma Mankiller, who served as principal chief of the Cherokee Nation.

So what icon of United States heritage is to be defaced next....

I mean, it's not exactly bad but it's not good, either.
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

I am not against the notion, but there are certain bills you just don't fuck with.

Alexander Hamilton should still be prominently displayed as he was the first Secretary of the Treasury and pushed for the US to have the currency.

Also, doing anything to the 20 dollar bill would be bad due to the reason Andrew Jackson was put on there. He hated paper money, and it is more of an inside joke as I view it.

I'd say that the 50 dollar bill or the five dollar bill would be fair came though.

The 2 dollar bill would be better. You never see them. Tongue

feminazis*

but in all honesty, Jackson will have had 100 years of face time by the time he's replaced.

In my locality, women have appeared on bills as far back as I can remember.

No difference what markings are on bills, they're all legal tender.

I just don't see why they care. They want equity, not equality, the feminists. If a woman had done something of great significance she would have been on the money, look at the UK with the Queen.
