Hey everyone,

I'm working on a custom CMS for my client work, & following a tutorial & my minimal experience in PHP I've got it about ready, but I'd like to advance my knowledge in PHP to make it better & just to know how.

So what're some resources you used to learn PHP? Looking forward to your responses!

Honestly, I prefer the official documentation in nice out of ten cases. It's almost always updated with the latest features, it's in most cases always correct what they write, plus it's easy to understand.

So, www.php.net/docs will be suggestion.

Add to that, the fact that it has a whole section about security... something that you can't see people talking much about in their videos/tutorials.

You don't really learn to program... CodeAcademy teaches you the syntax of a language, that's it. You don't really learn the key parts of programming, such as trouble shooting and creativeness.
