You are not aware of the law and how law enforcement works. I stated to my attorornys what my intentions where. And what they told me to do is the above.

Please take no offence but I will do what my attorneys say over what a moderator says.

The police can get a suponea for you te relinquish your password. Not doing so will be contempt of court.

I am not saying that the above will occure but for a wise man to cover his bases. Should for whatever reason Law enforcement find you and your system. You should have a reason for having (kali "ETC"). Just makes your life easier and gives you a basis for defence.

Yes lock picking tools are not illegal, but they will get you questions from Law enforcement should they find you have them. Its just the way it works. I would prefer to say "hey man here is my licence, this is why i am doing it."

I am well aware of the law. But regardless of what your lawyer says, you only need a defense if you are doing something illegal. Its no different than walking down the street at night. The cops can ask you what you're doing, but if they dont catch you doing anything illegal they cant charge you with anything. You dont need an excuse for walking down a street at night because its not illegal.

But really - how much did that "license" cost? Whats stopping ANYONE from getting that license and using it as an excuse? I really doubt your local city council is qualified to ensure people are "ethical".

humm it cost me a whole 25 bucks for peace of mind. And no it is not the place of the city hall to determine ethical. They only look at licenses and the revenue received from them.

And again I have to state, unless you are really really strong minded, the PoPo will break you down unless you have a reason for what you have.

And my last statement, so no one has ever gone to jail for something that they did not commit. Best to cover your ass for a few bucks. Iregardless (yes i know i spelled it wrong) of weather you did it or not.

So for the peace of mind of 25$ you get to continue doing something that is legal.

And it wont prevent them from searching you or your computer if they believe you were doing something illegal. So really, Its just to make you feel better than any actual legal protection.

phew finally back to the point of my topic. Does rsyslog actually kill all root loging.

If for some reason as you stated they do in fact look at my system. I need to make sure it was in stealth mode so no evidence is left behind.

Now that will give me peace of mind.
