How does DDOS software really work?

You could've asked me on Skype. I'm sorry I haven't been online lately, we are in two different timezones.

I have a couple things we need to test, which includes a server with a proxy network, as an alternative way of spoofing.

Using certain flood methods (TCP, UDP, SYN, HTTP, Etc..) you have more than one ISP sending floods to a server until it cannot take the traffic and shuts down. the software that is called "DDoS" programs are most of the time just viruses, but some are legit and they just contact the other computers/zombies/etc to send these floods to a server. Its a simple concept. If you are really interested in the DDoS look up the creator of it. "Mafia Boy" He took down Yahoo, Ebay, and other large sites easily because the servers where not built to take that much stress because they didn't think that was a threat.
