Summary:
26 years ago, in a third-year classroom of a middle school, there was a student named Misaki. As an honors student who was also good at sports, she was popular with her classmates. When she suddenly died, her classmates decided to carry on as if she was still alive until graduation. Then, in the spring of 1998, a boy named Sakakibara Kouichi transfers to the class, and he grows suspicious of the fearful atmosphere in that classroom. In particular, there is a beautiful, aloof girl named Mei Misaki who wears an eyepatch and is always alone drawing pictures.

Plot:
The plot to this was pretty good, in my opinion. Some might argue that the events were unjustified, but the supernatural events are what gave the series the whole "horror" factor. Either way, besides the "curse" almost everything is very realistic.
The great thing about Another, was that I was always wondering what could be going on. The series always had me guessing for what would happen next, and I was always trying to justify events.
Although it is meant to be a horror series, there wasn't blatant, unnecessary gore. Gore was always backed up with intellect, and didn't make me feel disgusting afterwards. The show was very much running on it's intellectual feeling, and without it, it wouldn't have been the same experience.
Characters:
Although their actions are understandable, many characters in this are very annoying.
The 2 main characters are actually really cool, and their personalities are great, and fairly unique. However, the classmates really annoyed me at times.
In fact, for the first 5 episodes, I couldn't stand them, and was thinking about how I would beat the crap out of my class if I was the main character. However, over time, their actions are explained, and are with reason.
It's easy to let yourself get attached to certain characters, but at the same time, getting attached to someone in Another brings the suspense to a new level. The constant fear of your favorite characters dying really gives it a new element.
Thoughts:
Coming from someone who usually hates Horror films, this series was great. It was creepy, but there were still moments when I could see the bright traits come out of characters.
The plot was set up exceptionally, and had me guessing the whole time. The whole situation wasn't explained right at the beginning, so you were always looking at half of the evidence, never knowing everything. Suspense. At the end of the series, there are a couple flash backs that made me wonder how I missed it before.
The few action scenes in the series were suspenseful, and, honestly, scary.
The artwork and animation quality in general were also top notch.
There isn't particularly a lot I have to say about this anime, considering it's length, but it's great. I definitely recommend this, despite me disliking horror as a genre in general.
