(Admins: Please let me know if you don't think this should be posted on this forum. Personally I don't see why not, because people who aren't members can't read it, without already knowing this trick.)

This is a quick demonstration on how to bypass the "you need to register in order to view this post/guests cannot view threads"-thingey on some MyBB-forums.

The address for your average MyBB thread would look something like:

www.forumsite.com/showthread.php?tid=1234

The only thing you would need to do here, is change the a single detail in the url as shown below:

www.forumsite.com/PRINTthread.php?tid=1234

(print instead of show)

As you can probably figure, this shows the printable version of that page, which often aren't private.

In order to proof this exploit is still useable from time to time, heres an example using one of my threads here on The L33ts. Try logging out to see that this actually works

Keeping this in mind, will help you not having to sign up to every other forum which has a post you are interested in reading.

Good tutorial! But there is an easier way to do this by making the website think you are the google bot.
You could download this. For firefox and then use:
Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html) Or you could follow this tutorial for chrome/chromium.

You can lock it using the HIDE plugin which requires everyone to post to view the thread content I believe. Also, links can be hidden using the Hide links to guests plugin.
But then again, good share, keep up the contribution :)
