I don't mean to be pessimistic, but how are you so sure this forum won't end up like skidforums if it does indeed surpass its popularity? The reduction of quality of any community always begins when it reaches mass popularity.

I fairly confident all they have to do is look at skidfourms and study what went wrong and how to prevent it sounds easier said than done. I know.

Whatever happened there can be attributed to a social phenomenon, which is an extremely complex matter nearly impossible to study. What went wrong there is the exact same thing that went wrong with the entire internet when it became popular, with video games when they became popular even among people who could be described as non-gamers 10 years ago.

The simple fact is that when masses and masses of people start using a certain service or adopt certain practices, competition increases, demands increase, and the service must start catering to the most idiotic majority, which gladly pull the ones at the top to their level. The internet became massively popular because the evolving ease-of-use allowed even a worthless, shallow fuckhead the ability to figure out how to work it, and the increase in bandwidth bred irresponsibility because nobody now has to care whether they have enough bandwidth to download 10,000 or 20,000 videos, wheras in the past you had to be careful and make whatever videos you are downloading damn worth the download because its going to take forever and take up a lot of space when it does.

My point? The internet started to suck because retards started to flock to it. Retards started to flock to it because it gradually took less and less intelligence to use it.

Whatever becomes massively popular is a VERY BAD SIGN that it sucks ass and that anyone with decent intelligence should stay far away from it. So if I were you guys, I would only hope for ambiguous notoriety for my site and not mass-popularity.

This whole illustration would be commendable if HF staff were actually good. Their dispute section just sucks and is always in favour of the scammer, they have close to none upgrade requirements and anybody with stolen Paypal money can become "Ub3r" (what a cliche name), and act all God-like (post stupid stolen tutorials, programs and still sound legit).
