How to come out as an Atheist/Non-religious?

As someone who's practically in the same situation as you (I'm very detached from my own religion compared to my family, who's life has centered around it since they were young), I can definitely feel for you. I hope you can get your issue resolved - I don't think I'd be able to even hint that I'm not as faithful as them for a while.

On a side note, I've always found it easier to talk to my parents seriously while high, sounds childish and definitely unorthodox, but my confidence is through the roof while on some g00d kush Wink

My parents found out when I had an argument with them about the existence of god. My mom just cried then she eventually got over it.

In all seriousness, if they don't accept who you are, then you shouldn't call them your parents anymore. Parents should be understanding of their kid's feelings and beliefs.

Yes, true they cannot kick me out or anything like that, but they are my parents, you know being raised so close to them I can't fathom living life knowing they don't approve or support me.
