What Should I Get? 05-12-2014, 03:04 AM

Well, I'm really done w/ Ubuntu. I am already dual booting it with Debian, so I am thinking of getting Linux mint now.
Which version should I get? Xfce, CInnamon, etc. Just post below. I really can't decide for myself. I have a 64 bit architecture, so just keep that in mind if you're going to recommend something.

If you really want to use Mint, it doesnt matter what DE will you use. But, in my opinion, Cinnamon looks best. I myself prefer Openbox, but that's just window mannager, and you have to do all shit yourself (panel, wallpaper management, compositing, etc).

Why move away from ubuntu in the first place? If it's the lack of applications move to windows, if it's just something else (like the damn Unity desktop environment), hop on to the default mint, it's pretty neat (maybe even with the MATE desktop?)

Mint is what I call Linux for dumbies haha. It's the first Linux OS I used as suggested because of how easy to use and stable it is.

Any distro can be seen as "Linux for kids" if you never do anything but use the gui.
