You realize that this could still be achieved through JavaScript and PHP if that was the intention? Or did your past work with all the web development you keep talking about not involve such in-depth work?
Does mybb's framework involve javascript or php that would do that? No.
Do you think Oni would do that? No.

Also where have I talked about all of this "in-depth web development work?" I haven't.

Please avoid looking like a moron when trying to insult people.

And why exactly should it have to support such functionality for it to be possible? When you download MyBB, all of the PHP files are there for you, and you can still interact with MyBB through plugins... And some plugins can still have unwanted adverse affects, even if you didn't intentionally do anything to the forum yourself to have such oddities exist.

You said you've done lots of web work. You're acting like you know all of what's possible when you clearly don't, I don't have to explain my own statements when they can be inferred by others about what you're saying can be done and what can't. Anybody who actually knows web development anyways.

Example code to prove it's possible:
Code:
<?php $text = 'This-is-a-test...'; $text = preg_replace('/-/', '<span style="color:#F00">-</span>', $text); echo $text, PHP_EOL; ?>

You obviously can't read. I already knew it was possible. Please quote where I've said I have done "lots of web development." Why do you keep stating things I already know that just aren't the case?

https://www.sinister.ly/Thread-Forum-Ann...#pid265134 - "2: I do quite a bit of web development."

You must have short term memory.

If you knew it was possible, you wouldn't have written such a post:
(04-01-2014, 01:37 AM)Kodo Wrote: You do realise in mybb that you don't set colors for individual characters right? You set colors for elements / classes in the stylesheet.

So you could do

p {
color: red;
}

and

.blockquote{
color: black;
}

but having the codeblock inside of the blockquote isn't really going to do this so it's probably not a site error. It has to be something on your side. Something else that supports this is the fact that all the text is the same color on my screen and probably multiple other people's screens.

If you haven't already try another browser.

If you knew it was possible, why are you explaining this? Furthermore, at the end you completely dismiss this possibility because of your little speech about CSS here. I can read clearly. You obviously just don't have the common sense to understand what you're actually saying.

RE: Forum Annoyances #25
1: Quite a bit isn't "OMG I DO INDEPTH WEB DEVELOPMENT I KNOW EVERYTHING L33T HAXXOR 1337 FAGGOT YOLO SWAG FEDORA."

2: I wrote that post because mybb doesn't use php / javascript for colors on text and 90% of the plugins oni has on here don't either. I think advanced spoiler actually might be the only one that does. The rest create styles / import their own style sheets. (such as tabbed menu).

Stop being an asshole and dragging out something that doesn't need to be.

Thread is still closed, but I wanted to reply.

Yes we did. I exported it the minute before I performed the merge. Please note that we are still moving some posts around, as some of the sections you guys had were too broad. We're having to go through hundreds of threads and move them. It will take a little bit of time. As for your bug, I'm unable to reproduce it, and I've used 3 different browsers. It must be you.
