I prefer PC gaming but if I had to choose, I would pick the PS4 for the simple fact that it's better. It goes to 1080p while xbox is still stuck at 720p, the n00bs.

I would like to save $100 and not get a shitty device that watches me and listens to what I say. I could care less about voice control because if I play online, someone can yell out, "Xbox Off" and my console will turn off[Has happened to a few people already].

Oh, and I get banned for swearing? Microsoft, this is the 21st Century. Even a 2 year old swears. We have the right to say whatever we want(in some countries but speaking mainly about USA).

And then that cheap DVR... 5 Minutes of gameplay @ 30 FPS? PS4 can record 15 minutes of gameplay @ 60 FPS.

Oh, and besides the fact that X1 can't play games 1080p Native, it's up-scaled from 720p, makes me cry in laughter at all the preceding failures of Microsoft. PS4 > X1. End of convo.

"Good enough" is a biased statement.
While I can see the voice control and Big Brother-esque spying-POTENTIAL as being offputting or problematic, I'd like to point out that the swearing bans is a hoax. Some games will screw you over for being a "bad sport", but those are the games and not the system.

Try playing a 720p video on a 42+ inch screen and then compare it to a 1080p video. There is a noticeable difference.

I got the Xbox One, probably only because I've had the Xbox since it first came out.
I'd hate to lose so much content and pretty much restart.
Also, the Xbox has the Halo series.

If you absolutely don't want to pay for XBL, then PS4. If you don't care about paying, see what your friends are getting, sucks to be the odd one out and have no one to play online with. I'd probably just go with which one I had before (360 or PS3).
