First of WinPatrol takes snapshot of your critical system resources and alerts you if any changes occur. A popular choice for over 15 years ago, WinPatrol was the first program to use a behavioral approach to detect new infiltrations and Zero-Day attacks. WinPatrol continues to add unique features and remains the smallest, fastest system monitor of its kind.

WinPatrol's simple tabbed interface allows you to explore deep inside your computer without needing to be a Windows registry expert. Our FREE WinPatrol provides the functionality of multiple utilities and runs well with popular cybersecurity or traditional Anto-Virus protections.

A one-time upgrade to WinPatrol PLUS means you never have to pay again premium PLUS features. Your computer will run faster than when it was new or you'll get a full refund.

Your PLUS upgrade helps continue the development of WinPatrol allowing us to tell toolbar company's where to stick it. When you download WinPatrol you won't get any crapware surprises.

Then I saw it, I saw a mom who would die for her son, a man who would kill for his wife, a boy, angry & alone, laid out in front of him the bad path. I saw it & the path was a circle, round & round. So I changed it.

They are better for some things, but other AVs are better for different things.

I agree malwarebytes is great but for removing and locating viruses at start up. I would recommend WinPatrol.

At startup? As in, before the computer is fully booted to restrict access to files, or for key system files when booted?

For checking newly added programs to start up and checking if you want to remove them.

MWBs suck. It rarely detects and removes all MW on my test runs when I compare AVs, even those that aren't FUD. It is slow to update, and has many flaws in the system. For example, its full scan scans areas where malware won't be found, which is a waste of time. Plus it cannot be ran effectively in safe mode, which a lot of users commonly resort to when their computer is too slow to run in normal mode while running a scan, which is caused by all malware (some to a different extent). Also, MWB fails to locate the source of a found virus, hence in some cases allowing the malware to continue spreading.

And that folks, is why MWB sucks as a stand alone AV.
