I regret not trying it, but ultimately it's for the best we're not together now. She's happy. We're still friends

I wouldn't say I never thought about them, but if they cross my mind it's more like a "I wonder what they ended up doing with their life" type vibe. It's exactly the same level of emotion and interest I'd have over the same question for an old school friend. I don't think I've ever looked back longing for sure.
