If you mean the cpu light on the motherboard then this is a diagnostics indicator, look online for the interpretation of what the light colors/combinations means.

Whats the M/B model? CPU? Have you overclocked it by yourself? At first try to reset bios to default settings. If I get you right the red light on the motherboard means that your CPU didnt went through the POST code and something wrong with it. But dont stress about it too soon its hard to kill CPU xD
