Need help. L>advice from anyone who's been to Jail

Fraud is a 1 way ticket to jail, regardless of the amount or items in question. SOMETIMES it can be federal time but of course it has to be like, ridiculous amounts of money on a refund or insane amounts of items.

You'd be lucky to get less than 10 years on a first offense.

Unless he has worded his post poorly, he is likely lying. If he was visited by the FBI yesterday then he would have been either served a summons to appear in Federal Court or taken into custody made a first appearance and released on bond. Either way, he wouldn't be going to Court in a matter of days to be sentenced 5 years in jail. That's just way too soon.

Also, if you were in his shoes and that actually happened, would coming to this message board be the place to go for that info? Not google? Youtube? Prison forums?
