Everyone's different and you might still enjoy smoking, so continue to do so. People don't quit because they're nagged to, they quit when smoking is no longer of value to them.

Unless you're someone that smokes more than 1/2 a pack a day, it's unlikely to expedite your death in a apparent way.

Most people I know who've quit more recently seemed to do so because of the sheer cost of it in the UK. It's seriously expensive to keep up a smoking habit these days. Even those who roll their own. Money can be a pretty good motivator in some circumstances.

The same goes for Poland. Taxes on tobacco are a joke. And if you get untaxed cigarettes from Ukraine for 1/5 the price, you are a criminal and a huge threat to society. The same goes for untaxed alcohol.

Do you guys have the "shop of horrors" style packaging as well? I went into duty free at the airport to pick up cigars for someone once and good lord. I felt a little ill going in there with all the non-branded, black and white text/horror image packaging.

I somewhat feel the same. It's 1 rule for 1 product, a different rule for the others. Although, in the UK they have now added a "sugar tax" to sugary drinks etc. Nothing on high-fat foods or foods full of preservatives or non-organic produce.

The same goes for Poland, we have a sugar tax from 2021 to maintain our health, but at the same time all the food that is on the shelves exceeds Russian standards by five times. This is purely for profit, they don't care about us.
