Can i get a virus by clicking a link? #1
I recently clicked a link which redirected me to alot of pages in just some seconds. It also downloaded a .zip file onto my computer which i immediately deleted. Could there also be a virus? I am quite worried. Any kind of help would be appreciated. The links i clicked are on this https://cloud.mail.ru/public/qNUq/yi4NPAuyC if someone wants to look into it. Should i take any other precautions? How can i check?

Affirmative. You can even get infected by not clicking links. A page can contain malignant code in it that can capitalize on an exploit. That is why it is always consequential that software stays up-to-date, and that you are cautious of what websites you are visiting.

I have not. I use a tweaked version of windows which removes bloat softwares to boost gaming performance. Due to this there is not anti-virus any idea how i can identify if my PC is infected ?

You can run x-amount of scans 24/7, but you'll never know for sure If your system Is malicious-free.

To have total peace of mind, hit a clean Installation of Windows by deleting all existing partitions and Installing the OS on the unallocated disk space.

You're welcome.

Unless the virus contains escalated privileges and embeds In your PC's firmware (which Is very sophisticated and not likely to happen), you can have peace of mind that your system Is free from malicious code.

Yup, they can come in all sorts of ways, even just from visiting a site without clicking anything.
