Saved us from what? The devil that could only exist if he created it in the first place?

Good job making your religion look even more unappealing. Your kind is the reason I denounced my faith.

I believe people act more morally without a god than with a god.
Nothing really to back it up other than that believing causes people to stupid things and act like an asshole.
I can't go into my one friends house since I'm an atheist and his dad is a Catholic.
Even when you say the littlest thing around him about not believing, he gets all mad and goes into a big rant about it like the guy above.

Correct. But any particular belief system you concoct will have certain assumptions.

One assumption might be "we assert that stealing is bad and sharing is good".

Point is: without a holy book to absolutely define right and wrong, anything at all is possible.

A hedonist might think "good" means being able to do whatever the fuck they want.

A "good" christian might think that is "bad".

I do not believe so. In fact, if moral-imposing religion was never invented, I believe we'd live in an even more moral and pure society.

"God" is not necessary to act morally. Personally, I just think that if you allow a book of fairy tales(from any religion) control how you live, you're not thinking nor living for yourself.
