Apple's "Do Not Track" Feature Does Not Work as Well as Previously Thought #1
This one should have been obvious to anyone who knows Apple. Their motto is "Privacy. That's iPhone", but that's almost never the case.

When iOS 14.5 launched, it came with a new feature called Do Not Track. This feature functions like uBlock Origin, in the sense that it blocks trackers from apps like Facebook; Or at least it's supposed to.

Quote:Say you open the app Subway Surfers, listed as one of the App Store's "must-play" games. It asks if you're OK with the app "tracking" you, a question iPhones started displaying in April as part of a privacy crackdown by Apple. Saying no is supposed to stop apps such as Subway Surfers and Facebook from learning about what you do in other apps and websites.

Instead of blocking apps from tracking you completely, like the quote above states, some apps decide to do this...

Quote:But something curious happens after you ask not to be tracked, according to an investigation by researchers at privacy software maker Lockdown and The Washington Post. Subway Surfers starts sending an outside ad company called Chartboost 29 very specific data points about your iPhone, including your Internet address, your free storage, your current volume level (to 3 decimal points) and even your battery level (to 15 decimal points). It's the kind of unique data that could be used by advertisers to identify your iPhone, possibly letting them know what other apps you use or how to target you.

The original article goes on for much longer, and I'll link it below. But I believe I've made my point clear enough. Apple is not your friend. Neither are all of the other multi-billion dollar tech companies. Don't let them infiltrate you!

Lol. Who would've guessed. The guise they throw over apple products is starting to fade away rather quickly. This is not the brand for privacy/security.
