It's good for selling/buying stuff, I don't use it for anything other than that.

There are some people who are LQ, but some are really awesome. HF went to shit after 2011. I miss the old days in 2010, and I wish that I'd register in early 2009 instead of in later 2009(december to be exact).
@LMG, the theme isn't ugly at all, I find it sexier than 90% of the forums I've been on due to the fact it's simple, nothing "fancy/professional" looking.

Ehh I use it if I really need something. But you cant trust anyone there.
And if you get scammed, staff doesnt do anything.

Well I enjoyed the usergroups and active community discussions, although I didn't really like the moderation team. Factor8 was unresponsive and very unhelpful whenever my account was 'possibly compromised'.
I used the contact form after I was suspended for the above reason. Factor8 simply replies to my email saying "Ac will not be recovered". He didn't even bother specifying why.
Apart from that, I'm done with HackForums. There's an equally good marketplace on ForumKorner.
