Career Advice #1
Hey.

For the past few years I've worked in the medical field and also have been studying to be a nurse. I was about midway through my next-to-last semester and decided to switch to cyber security as I became tired of the medical field and felt burnt out before I even started lol. My program takes 4 years to complete, however because I already have a lot of the prerequisites out of the way, I'm considered a junior. I feel lost, although I know this is what I want. I feel behind in terms of career development and connections. I'm already technically a junior and I have not done one internship or began outside studies which I assume is highly recommended.

Could someone lead me in the right direction or offer some advice? Thanks.

I'd recommend honing your skills, outside of what's required for class. I know several people that got their computer science degrees, but did very little programming outside of what was required by their degree plan. Use what you've learned and apply it to the problems/situations you see, otherwise your degree will just be a piece of paper. Plenty of people get a late start too, so I wouldn't get discouraged.
